To assist the Department of Health Services in determining transfer amounts, the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development shall provide to the department quarterly access to the edited and unedited confidential patient discharge data files for all Medi-Cal eligible patients. The department shall maintain the confidentiality of that data to the same extent as is required of the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development.
Noncounty hospitals receiving funds pursuant to 16946(b)(1), must report to the county within 30 days of receiving the funds, information on patients for whom the funds were used pursuant to 16918.
The State Department of Rehabilitation may promulgate regulations protecting records and confidential information maintained for the vocational rehabilitation program.
The Department of Education shall create a computerized data-matching system using its own and Department of Health Care Services' Medi-Cal databases to automatically enroll eligible children into subsidized meal programs. The Department of Health Care Services must conduct the data match of local school records and return a list to the Department of Education, including only the data fields submitted by the department and an indicator of program eligibility, as required by federal law.
In a retirement proceeding, retiree's statements and records (including medical information) shall be held confidentially and shall not be disclosed except as necessary for administering the pension benefits, by court order or by written authorization of retiree.
