Summary:

If the Department of Corrections determines that a person under their jurisdiction may be a sexually violent predator, they may refer the person for evaluation. If the department screens the person and determines that they are likely to be a SVP, then he will be evaluated by two psychiatrists or psychologists. If the person is deemed to be a likely SVP, the director of the Department of Mental Health may request a petition for commitment. Copies of evaluation reports and other supporting documents shall be available to the attorney designated to file the petition.
