CalPSAB Principles

The CalPSAB has responded to public comments received about the proposed Privacy and Security mission statement, assumptions, principles and definitions. The CalPSAB has adopted these documents and will be forwarding them to the Secretary of the California Health and Human Services Agency for approval. Both the document containing the public comments and responses and the Mission Statement, Assumptions, Principles and Definitions may be found at the following links.

California Privacy and Security Advisory Board (CalPSAB)

CalOHI is pleased to announce on behalf of the California Health and Human Services Agency the establishment of the California Privacy and Security Advisory Board (CalPSAB) which will provide private and public collaboration to address and coordinate health information exchange (HIE) privacy and security efforts in California. The CalPSAB's four committees; Privacy, IT Security, Legal, and Education will analyze issues, develop and evaluate the effectiveness of alternative solutions, and present recommendations to the CalPSAB. The CalPSAB will prioritize the work of the committees, review and approve their recommendations, and present approved recommendations for consideration by the Secretary of the California Health and Human Services Agency.

If you are interested in participating in the CalPSAB process as a committee member or receiving updates on the activities of the CalPSAB, please provide the following information:

  • Name and title
  • Organization, if applicable
  • Address
  • The category of the health care industry you represent, such as: hospital, emergency physician, consumer, vendor, etc.
  • E-mail address
  • Telephone number(s)
  • Please indicate which committee interests you, if you want to join or the subject area that interests you and if you would like to receive additional information.
